Behind the camera

A sunlit oak glows green against deep blue lake water on a Bay Area hillside at dusk — a signature frame standing in until a portrait of Wei lands here

I'm Wei Shen — a photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, working in English and Chinese. Field to Frame started with a simple habit: showing up where life actually happens — ballparks, backyards, kitchens, sidelines — and paying attention.

By day I work in tech in Silicon Valley; behind the camera I bring the same patience and preparation to real moments. No stiff poses and no over-direction: we find good light, you live your moment, and I frame it.

Sessions run in English, Chinese, or both. If you're planning a portrait, a family milestone, or a season of games, I'd love to hear about it.

I shoot flagship Sony bodies with G Master lenses — quiet, fast, and dependable. Good equipment matters because it disappears: nothing between the moment and the frame.
